Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill names the state aviation facilities at the Dane County Regional
Airport in the city of Madison the "Fritz E. Wolf Aviation Center." Mr. Wolf served
for 35 years in state service, first as an employee of the former state Aeronautics
Commission beginning in 1946 and then from 1967 to 1981 as the first director of the
Division and later the Bureau of Aeronautics in the Department of Transportation.
The Department of Administration, which manages state facilities that are not
under the jurisdiction of another state agency, has informally named some facilities
until otherwise provided by law. Currently, the state aviation facilities at the Dane
County Regional Airport are not named in honor of any person.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
