SB324,1,2 1An Act to amend 121.545 (1) of the statutes; relating to: allowing school boards
2to charge a fee for transporting certain pupils to school.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law the parent of a pupil who is not required to be transported
to and from a public or private school may agree to pay the school board of the school
district a sufficient fee to reimburse the school board for the cost of providing the
transportation, in which case the school board may transport the pupil. This bill
allows a school board to charge a fee for this transportation and to waive the fee or
any portion of it for any person who is unable to pay.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
