SB609,1,3 1An Act to amend 21.19 (8); and to create 20.465 (1) (am) of the statutes;
2relating to: body armor for national guard members and making an

This bill requires the adjutant general or a designee to provide the latest
version of the highest quality body armor to every resident who is a member of the
national guard or of a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces called into the U.S.
armed forces combat duty.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB609, s. 1 4Section 1. 20.465 (1) (am) of the statutes is created to read:
SB609,1,65 20.465 (1) (am) National guard armor. A sum sufficient to provide body armor
6to members of the national guard and reserves under s. 21.19 (8).
SB609, s. 2 7Section 2. 21.19 (8) of the statutes is amended to read:

121.19 (8) The adjutant general or a designee shall issue all necessary supplies
2to members and units of the national guard and may contract for the purchase and
3transportation of such supplies, subject to s. 16.71 (1). From the appropriation under
4s. 20.465 (1) (am), the adjutant general or a designee shall purchase and issue the
5latest version of the highest quality body armor to every resident who is a member
6of the national guard or of a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces and who is
7called into the U. S. armed forces for combat duty.
