SJR40,1,52 Whereas, Sergeant First-Class Trevor John Diesing was born on May 16, 1975,
3in Red Wing, Minnesota, and died on August 25, 2005, after an improvised explosive
4device detonated while he was conducting combat operations near Husaybah, Iraq;
5and
SJR40,1,96 Whereas, Sfc. Diesing served with honor and distinction as a member of 1st
7Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group Airborne with the U.S. Army Special
8Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was 3 weeks into his 3rd
9tour of duty in Iraq when he and 3 others were killed; and
SJR40,1,1210 Whereas, Sfc. Diesing joined the Army Reserves in 1992 while still in high
11school and left for basic training the day following his graduation from Plum City
12High School; and
SJR40,1,1413 Whereas, Sfc. Diesing had a competitive nature, playing Varsity Basketball
14and Baseball for Plum City; and

1Whereas, Sfc. Diesing spent several years in the Army Reserves and joined the
2Army full time in 1997, and was stationed at bases throughout the country, including
3Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Fort Carson, Colorado, before serving at Fort Bragg,
4North Carolina; and
SJR40,2,75 Whereas, inspired by his grandfather's Purple Heart Award for service in World
6War II, Sfc. Diesing always planned on a career in the military, and just weeks before
7his death he was promoted from staff sergeant to sergeant first-class; and
SJR40,2,98 Whereas, he spent many years working on the family farm and enjoyed
9hunting, particularly bow hunting, and fishing with his younger brother, Toby; and
SJR40,2,1110 Whereas, Sfc. Diesing will always be remembered for his patriotism, courage,
11and exemplary service as a soldier in the United States Army; now, therefore, be it
SJR40,2,15 12Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
13Wisconsin legislature, on behalf of a grateful state, honor Sergeant First-Class
14Trevor John Diesing for his noble service to our country and extend their condolences
15to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR40,2,18 16Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
17resolution to Sergeant First-Class Diesing's wife, Lori, to his sons, Maddox and Cole,
18to his parents, Lonnie and Debra Diesing, and to his brother, Toby Diesing.
