The 2007-09 biennial budget act allocated to the Board of Regents (board) of
the University of Wisconsin (UW) System $664,800 in general purpose revenue in
fiscal year 2008-09 for the purpose of supporting the growth and access initiative at
the UW-La Crosse. This bill requires the board to expend the entire amount of the
allocation on providing additional financial aid at the UW-La Crosse.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(1) Notwithstanding the allocation under
2007 Wisconsin Act 20 of $664,800
5from the appropriation under section 20.285 (1) (a) of the statutes in fiscal year
62008-09 for the purpose of supporting the growth and access initiative at the
7University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, the Board of Regents of the University of
1Wisconsin System shall expend the entire amount of the allocation for the purpose
2of providing additional financial aid at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
