AJR10,1,32 Whereas, David A. Brandemuehl was born on December 7, 1931, in Mount
3Hope, Wisconsin, and died on September 26, 2006, in Fennimore; and
AJR10,1,44 Whereas, he was a graduate of Fennimore Community Schools; and
AJR10,1,65 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean
6Conflict from 1951 to 1955; and
AJR10,1,87 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl married Elizabeth Cretney on June 14, 1958, and
8together they raised four children; and
AJR10,1,109 Whereas, they shared 39 years of marriage before her death on June 15, 1997;

AJR10,1,1311 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl farmed in the Fennimore area for over 35 years and
12was a passionate supporter of his family's involvement in 4-H, sports, forensics,
13music, and educational and career endeavors; and
AJR10,1,1414 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl married LaRue Oetker on December 19, 2004; and

1Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl started his public service by serving on the
2Fennimore Community School District school board from 1967 to 1987; and
AJR10,2,43 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl was first elected to the Wisconsin assembly in
41986, serving in the 1987 to 1999 sessions; and
AJR10,2,95 Whereas, during his tenure in the assembly, Mr. Brandemuehl was chairman
6of the transportation committee during the 1995, 1997, and 1999 sessions, and
7included in his many accomplishments were the expansion of U.S. Highway 151,
8drug-free school zones, sesquicentennial license plates, and mandatory HIV testing
9of those accused of committing sexual assaults; and
AJR10,2,1210 Whereas, Mr. Brandemuehl was known as a leader of principle and integrity
11who took great pleasure and pride in meeting and serving the people of southwest
12Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
AJR10,2,16 13Resolved by the assembly assembly senate concurring, That the members
14of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that David A.
15Brandemuehl contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at
16his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR10,2,21 17Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
18resolution to Mr. Brandemuehl's wife, LaRue of Grundy Center, Iowa; two sons, Mark
19Brandemuehl of Mountain View, California, and Steven Brandemuehl of Plymouth,
20Michigan; and two daughters, Rene Wehler of Mount Morris, Illinois, and Michelle
21Brandemuehl of San Francisco, California.
