2007 Assembly JOINT RESOLUTION 70

AJR70,1,2 Relating to: appointment of a new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40, the executive budget bill of the 2007 legislature.

AJR70,1,6 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That, upon the adoption of this joint resolution by the assembly and concurrence therein by the senate, the committee of conference on Senate Bill 40, constituting the executive budget bill of the 2007 legislature, created by 2007 Assembly Joint Resolution 59, is abolished; and

AJR70,1,11 Be it further resolved, That, notwithstanding joint rule 3, there is created a new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40, relating to state finances and appropriations, constituting the executive budget bill of the 2007 legislature, to reconcile the differences between the 2 houses and to present its report on the bill to the 2 houses; and

AJR70,1,13 Be it further resolved, That, notwithstanding joint rule 3 (1), senate rule 20m, and assembly rule 3 (1) (j):

AJR70,2,2 (1) The new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40 shall consist of 4 members from each house, with 3 members from each house representing the majority party in that house and one member from each house representing the minority party in that house.

AJR70,2,6 (2) (a) The senate members of the new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40 representing the majority party shall be appointed by the president of the senate and the senate member representing the minority party shall be appointed by the senate minority leader.

AJR70,2,10 (b) The assembly members of the new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40 representing the majority party shall be appointed by the speaker of the assembly and the assembly member representing the minority party shall be appointed by the assembly minority leader.

AJR70,2,13 (3) No assembly member or senate member who served on the committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40 created by 2007 Assembly Joint Resolution 59 may serve on the committee on conference created by this resolution.

AJR70,2,15 (4) The report by the new committee of conference on 2007 Senate Bill 40 must be supported by the votes of at least 3 of the 4 members representing each house.
