AB51,1,2 1An Act to create 38.12 (12) and 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. of the statutes; relating to:
2scheduling of classes at technical colleges.

Beginning in the 2011-12 academic year, this bill requires each technical
college district board to ensure that at least one-third of all class periods each
semester are scheduled to begin after 5 p.m. and that every course offered by the
district is scheduled to be taught after 5 p.m. at least once every three years.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB51, s. 1 3Section 1. 38.12 (12) of the statutes is created to read:
AB51,1,74 38.12 (12) Evening classes. The district board shall ensure that at least
5one-third of all class periods each semester are scheduled to begin after 5 p.m. and
6that every course offered by the district is scheduled to be taught in the class periods
7that begin after 5 p.m. in at least one semester every 3 school years.

1Section 2. 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. of the statutes is created to read:
AB51,2,32 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. The requirement under s. 38.12 (12) on district boards in
3charge of technical colleges of a district.
AB51, s. 3 4Section 3. Initial applicability.
AB51,2,75 (1) The treatment of section 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. of the statutes first applies to a
6collective bargaining agreement that is modified, extended, or renewed on the
7effective date of this subsection.
AB51, s. 4 8Section 4. Effective date.
AB51,2,99 (1) This act takes effect on September 1, 2011.
