1An Act to create 38.12 (12) and 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. of the statutes;
relating to:
2scheduling of classes at technical colleges.

Beginning in the 2011-12 academic year, this bill requires each technical
college district board to ensure that at least one-third of all class periods each
semester are scheduled to begin after 5 p.m. and that every course offered by the
district is scheduled to be taught after 5 p.m. at least once every three years.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 38.12 (12) of the statutes is created to read:

(12) Evening classes. The district board shall ensure that at least

6that every course offered by the district is scheduled to be taught in the class periods
7that begin after 5 p.m. in at least one semester every 3 school years.

(4) (mc) 4. The requirement under s. 38.12 (12) on district boards in
3charge of technical colleges of a district.

(1) The treatment of section 111.70 (4) (mc) 4. of the statutes first applies to a
6collective bargaining agreement that is modified, extended, or renewed on the
7effective date of this subsection.
