SJR13,1,32 Whereas, dangerous situations often confront emergency medical personnel —
3situations that set the profession apart from other routine jobs; and
SJR13,1,54 Whereas, it is a difficult and sometimes daunting time to be part of the public
5health and safety professions; and
SJR13,1,86 Whereas, the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin (PAAW) is a
7leading organization serving the needs of its members in the ambulance and medical
8transportation industry in Wisconsin; and
SJR13,1,119 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association are dedicated to
10excellence in the ambulance services industry and provide services to enable their
11members to effectively address the needs of the communities they serve; and
SJR13,1,1312 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association advocate the
13highest quality patient care through ethical and sound business practices; and
SJR13,2,214 Whereas, PAAW acknowledges and appreciates that the Emergency Medical
15System in Wisconsin functions largely because 80 percent of the services are

1provided by professionals identified as "volunteers" who contribute over 50 million
2dollars in in-kind services to their communities; and
SJR13,2,43 Whereas, PAAW has great admiration and respect for those who dedicate their
4time and talents to the emergency medical care profession; and
SJR13,2,65 Whereas, PAAW wishes to recognize the heroic and courageous work performed
6by emergency medical personnel every day; and
SJR13,2,97 Whereas, PAAW and the American Ambulance Association now seek to honor
8those in Wisconsin who exemplify the best qualities in the ambulance profession with
9the fourth annual "Stars of Life" recognition program; and
SJR13,2,1410 Whereas, on March 4, 2009, individuals will be honored as "Stars of Life" for
11demonstrating outstanding service to their profession through communication
12skills, customer service, and job performance while exhibiting exceptional
13professionalism, kindness, and selflessness in performing their duties; now,
14therefore, be it
SJR13,2,18 15Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
16Wisconsin legislature congratulate PAAW on its "Stars of Life" program and
17commend those who will receive the award for their hard work and dedication to
18their jobs, their patients, and the communities they serve.
