AJR30,1,32 Whereas, John E. McCormick was born on May, 20, 1924, in Milwaukee,
3Wisconsin, and died on November 26, 2010; and
AJR30,1,54 Whereas, Judge McCormick was a graduate of Marquette University High
5School, and earned an LL.B. degree from Marquette University in 1951; and
AJR30,1,76 Whereas, Judge McCormick served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24
7navigator during World War II; and
AJR30,1,98 Whereas, Judge McCormick married Mary Jo Deppisch, who preceded him in
9death; and
AJR30,1,1110 Whereas, Judge McCormick was first elected to the Wisconsin assembly in
111960, representing Milwaukee's 17th district in the 1961 through 1971 sessions; and
AJR30,1,1412 Whereas, after being appointed a circuit court judge for Milwaukee County in
131972, Judge McCormick served on the bench until his retirement in 2004, and was
14the longest-serving circuit court judge in Milwaukee County history; and

1Whereas, Judge McCormick is described by some of his children as a man of
2unshakable integrity, a "pretty tough-headed Irishman", and "one of those tough
3WWII guys"; now, therefore, be it
AJR30,2,7 4Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
5Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service John E. McCormick
6contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and
7extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR30,2,11 8Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
9resolution to Judge McCormick' s children, Thomas McCormick, Kathleen
10D'Acquisto, Patricia Berezowitz, Bridget Lenz, Mary Rogowski, Timothy
11McCormick, Ellen Gregg, Ann Ameri, and John McCormick.
