AJR86,1,53 Whereas, Lauri Bausch is a U.S. Women's Skeleton athlete from Fredonia,
4Wisconsin, who graduated from Kewaskum High School, attended the University of
5Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology; and
AJR86,1,86 Whereas, in the fall of 2009, while interning at the Olympic Training Center in
7Lake Placid, New York, Lauri had the opportunity to try skeleton, a winter sport in
8which one person slides down the ice track face first on a small sled; and
AJR86,1,119 Whereas, after trying skeleton for the first time she fell in love with the sport
10and began to race competitively, and after a great deal of success Lauri qualified for
11the 2010-11 National Team Trials; and
AJR86,1,1412 Whereas, Lauri concluded her successful European Cup skeleton season in St.
13Moritz, Switzerland, on January 20, 2014, and earned a Bronze Medal; now,
14therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2Wisconsin state legislature do hereby recognize and commend the outstanding
3athletic achievements of Lauri Bausch and join her friends, family, and fellow
4Wisconsinites in congratulating her on winning a Bronze Medal in the European
5Cup, and do wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
