AB618,1,3 1An Act to create 118.60 (6m) (b) 5. and 119.23 (6m) (b) 5. of the statutes; relating
2to:
requiring a private school participating in a parental choice program to
3report suspensions and expulsions of pupils.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires a private school participating in a parental choice program
to annually report to the Department of Public Instruction all of the following
information related to suspensions and expulsions of pupils from the private school:
1. The number of pupils who were suspended from the private school during
the previous school year.
2. The number of pupils who were expelled from the private school during the
previous school year.
3. The reasons for which pupils were suspended or expelled from the private
school in the previous school year.
4. The length of time for which the pupils were expelled.
5. Whether pupils who were expelled returned to the private school after
expulsions.
6. Any educational programs or services the private school provided to pupils
during expulsions.

7. The grade, sex, and ethnicity of pupils who were suspended or expelled and
whether the suspended or expelled pupils are children with disabilities.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB618,2,132 118.60 (6m) (b) 5. The number of pupils who were suspended and expelled from
3the private school in the previous school year; the reasons for which pupils were
4suspended or expelled from the private school in the previous school year, reported
5according to the categories specified by the state superintendent under s. 115.38 (1)
6(b) 2.; the length of time for which the pupils were expelled, reported according to
7categories specified by the state superintendent under s. 115.38 (1) (b) 2.; whether
8pupils returned to the private school after their expulsions; the educational
9programs and services, if any, the private school provided to pupils during their
10expulsions, reported according to categories specified by the state superintendent
11under s. 115.38 (1) (b) 2; and the grade, sex, and ethnicity of pupils who were
12suspended or expelled and whether the suspended or expelled pupils are children
13with disabilities, as defined in s. 115.76 (5).
