AJR51,1,2 Relating to: declaring July 10, 2015, as Collector Car Appreciation Day in Wisconsin.

AJR51,1,5 Whereas, many people in Wisconsin and the nation maintain classic automobiles as a pastime and do so with great passion and as a means of individual expression; and

AJR51,1,7 Whereas, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation issued more than 5,000 collector license plates in 2013; and

AJR51,1,9 Whereas, classic and collector car clubs have been established throughout the state in both small towns and large cities; and

AJR51,1,11 Whereas, classic and collector car gatherings and "cruises" are held as a means to improve the business climate in local communities; and

AJR51,1,15 Whereas, the state legislature recognizes the effect that the more than 100-year history of the automobile has had on the economic progress of Wisconsin and the United States and supports wholeheartedly all activities involved in the restoration and exhibition of classic automobiles; and

AJR51,2,2 Whereas, collection, restoration, and preservation of automobiles is an activity shared across generations and across all segments of society; and

AJR51,2,5 Whereas, automobiles have provided the inspiration for music, photography, cinema, fashion, and other artistic pursuits that have become part of the popular culture of the United States; now, therefore be it

AJR51,2,8 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin legislature designates July 10, 2015, as Collector Car Appreciation Day in Wisconsin.
