The normal enrollment period for a corps member who is promoted to assistant crew leader or for a person who is hired as assistant crew leader is 2 years. The board may authorize the employment of a corps member or assistant crew leader beyond the normal enrollment period for a limited time, not to exceed 3 months, under special circumstances where continued employment is required in order to complete a project in progress. The normal enrollment period for a crew leader or a regional crew leader is 2 years. The board may extend the employment of a crew leader beyond the normal enrollment period if the crew leader possesses special experience, training or skills valuable to the program. The board may extend the employment of a regional crew leader for an unlimited time.
