ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 7, To 1995 SENATE BILL 563

SB563-AA7,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB563-AA7,1,4 1. Page 1, line 11: before "transferring" insert: "bulletproof garments for certain state traffic patrol officers;".

SB563-AA7,1,5 2. Page 3, line 21: after that line insert:

SB563-AA7,1,6 " Section 3r. 110.07 (5) of the statutes is created to read:

SB563-AA7,1,8 110.07 (5) (a) In this subsection, "bulletproof garment" has the meaning given in s. 939.64 (1).

SB563-AA7,2,2 (b) Upon request of an officer of the state traffic patrol under sub. (1) whose duties under this section may include transporting prisoners, the department shall make available to the traffic officer a bulletproof garment that may be used in the performance of his or her duties under this section. The department shall equip a traffic officer with a bulletproof garment as soon as practicable after receipt of the request from the traffic officer under this paragraph, provided that each traffic officer who has made a request before September 1, 1997, shall be equipped with a bulletproof garment by that date.".
