Whereas, Elmer C. Peterson was born in Martin County, Minnesota, on
3November 30, 1892, and died on June 19, 1978; and

Whereas, he was educated in the public schools of Rockford, Illinois, and at

Whereas, he served with the U.S. Army in a mortar battery unit during World

Whereas, he served as a town clerk, a school clerk, a town chairperson and a
9member of a county board; and

Whereas, Mr. Peterson was the president of the Douglas County Farmers
11Union from 1931 to 1938; and

Whereas, he served in the assembly from 1931 to 1938 and in the senate from
