Speaker Brancel introduced Shareb Phunkyi of the Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms staff, who introduced a group of artistes from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, who performed "Words of Truth", a prayer composed by HIS HOLINESS TENZING YATSO THE XIV DALAI LAMA OF TIBET, Honoring and invoking the Great Compassion of the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Teachings, and the Spiritual Community. The following artistes performed: Director Jamyang Dorjee, Artist Director Lobsang Samten, Gompo Tashi, Gompo Dorjee, Tsering Paldon, Tashi Dhondup, Lobsang Choephell, Tsering Lodoe, Migmar, Tenzin Nyiden, Samten Dhondup, Youdon Lhamo, Tsering Youdon, Tenzin Choedon, Tenzin Yangzom and Namgyal Dolma.
Representative Schneider led the membership in reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
