Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, no person may file or record a bill of sale with a register of
deeds. Under a former law, a bill of sale could be filed with a register of deeds but
1993 Wisconsin Act 301 repealed that provision. This bill requires a register of deeds
to record and index a notice of a bill of sale.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
