5related to driving while under the influence of an intoxicant; the prohibited
6alcohol concentration related to operating a motor vehicle while under the
7influence of an intoxicant; creating a safe-ride grant program; certain alcohol
8beverage offenses committed by persons under the legal drinking age; making
9an appropriation; and providing penalties.

10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That, upon the adoption
11of this joint resolution by the assembly and concurrence therein by the senate and
12notwithstanding joint rule 3, there is created a committee of conference on 1999
13Senate Bill 125, relating to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of
14an intoxicant or drugs, or both; installation of an ignition interlock device in cases
15involving intoxicated operation of a motor vehicle; seizure of motor vehicles for
1offenses related to driving while under the influence of an intoxicant; the prohibited
2alcohol concentration related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence
3of an intoxicant; creating a safe-ride grant program; certain alcohol beverage
4offenses committed by persons under the legal drinking age; making an
5appropriation; and providing penalties, to reconcile the differences between the 2
6houses, as reflected by 1999 Senate Bill 125 as engrossed by the senate and 1999
7Assembly Bill 221 as engrossed by the assembly, and to present its report on the bill
8to the 2 houses; and

9Be it further resolved, That, notwithstanding joint rule 3 (intro.) and (1),
10senate rules 4 (9) and 35 and assembly rule 40:

(1) Neither bill need receive 3 readings.

(2) The committee of conference on 1999 Senate Bill 125 shall consist of 4
13members from each house, with 3 members from each house representing the
14majority party in that house and one member from each house nominated by the
15minority leader in that house.

(3) The members of the committee of conference on 1999 Senate Bill 125 shall
17be appointed by the speaker of the assembly in the case of assembly members and
18be appointed by the president of the senate, without approval of the senate, in the
19case of senate members.

(4) The report by the committee of conference on 1999 Senate Bill 125 must be
21supported by the votes of at least a majority of the members representing each house.
