AJR124,1,3 Relating to: creating a committee of conference on 1999 Assembly Bill 701, 1999 Senate Bill 190, 1999 Assembly Bill 234 and 1999 Senate Bill 181, relating to campaign finance reform.

AJR124,1,13 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That, upon the adoption of this joint resolution by the assembly and concurrence therein by the senate and notwithstanding joint rule 3, there is created a committee of conference on 1999 Assembly Bill 701, 1999 Senate Bill 190, 1999 Assembly Bill 234 and 1999 Senate Bill 181, the 1999 "Campaign Finance Reform Bills", to reconcile the differences between the 2 houses, as reflected by 1999 Assembly Bill 701, as engrossed by the assembly, 1999 Senate Bill 190, as engrossed by the senate, 1999 Assembly Bill 234, as engrossed by the assembly, and 1999 Senate Bill 181, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, and to present its report on one or more of the bills to the 2 houses; and, be it further

AJR124,1,15 Resolved, That, notwithstanding joint rule 3, senate rules 4 (9) and 35 and assembly rule 40 (1):

AJR124,2,1 (1) None of the bills need receive 3 readings.

AJR124,2,6 (2) The committee of conference on 1999 Assembly Bill 701, 1999 Senate Bill 190, 1999 Assembly Bill 234 and 1999 Senate Bill 181 shall consist of 4 members from each house, with 3 members from each house representing the majority party in that house and one member from each house nominated by the minority leader in that house.

AJR124,2,11 (3) The members of the committee of conference on 1999 Assembly Bill 701, 1999 Senate Bill 190, 1999 Assembly Bill 234 and 1999 Senate Bill 181 shall be appointed by the speaker of the assembly in the case of assembly members and be appointed by the president of the senate, without approval of the senate, in the case of senate members.

AJR124,2,14 (4) The report by the committee of conference on 1999 Assembly Bill 701, 1999 Senate Bill 190, 1999 Assembly Bill 234 and 1999 Senate Bill 181 must be supported by the vote of at least a majority of the members representing each house.
