AB1-ASA1-AA9,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB1-ASA1-AA9,1,2 1. Page 225, line 3: after that line insert:

AB1-ASA1-AA9,1,3 " Section 523n. 895.46 (9) of the statutes is created to read:

AB1-ASA1-AA9,2,2 895.46 (9) This section does not authorize a state employee or official to make a payment for the attorney fees incurred after December 31, 2000, on behalf of any member of the legislature if those attorney fees are incurred in response to an investigation, subpoena, charge, indictment, trial, or conviction related to allegations of the improper use of state resources and related violations of state law by members of the legislative party caucuses. If any payment has been made in violation of this section prior to the effective date of this subsection .... [revisor inserts date], the person who made the payment shall take appropriate legal action to recover the amount paid from the member of the legislature on whose behalf the payment was made.".
