ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 55, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2001 SENATE BILL 55

SB55-ASA1-AA55,1,4 " Section 558m. 20.255 (2) (fL) of the statutes is created to read:

SB55-ASA1-AA55,2,2 20.255 (2) (fL) Distribution of U.S. flag and patriotic documents. A sum sufficient equal to the difference between the amount that the assembly committee on organization authorized to be expended for legal and consulting services, other than for those performed by employees of the Wisconsin legislature in the performance of their regular job responsibilities, to assist the legislature, its committees, and its members in the redistricting of congressional and legislative districts, less $520,000, to pay for the costs of the distributions under s. 118.06 (4).".

SB55-ASA1-AA55, s. 2675g Section 2675g. 118.06 (4) of the statutes is created to read:

SB55-ASA1-AA55,2,16 118.06 (4) The state superintendent shall distribute to each school district one U.S. flag for each classroom in which the school district does not have a U.S. flag to display on the effective date of this subsection .... [revisor inserts date], and shall distribute to each pupil in each school district a copy of the pledge of allegiance and a copy of the declaration of independence. The cost of the distributions shall be paid from the appropriation account under s. 20.255 (2) (fL). If the amount in the appropriation account under s. 20.255 (2) (fL) is insufficient to fund fully the cost of the distributions under this subsection, the state superintendent shall prorate the distributions.".

SB55-ASA1-AA55,3,3 (a) Notwithstanding section 20.001 (3) (d) of the statutes, of the amounts appropriated to the assembly under section 20.765 (1) (a) of the statutes in the 2001-03 fiscal biennium, no more than $260,000 may be expended for legal and consulting services, other than for those performed by employees of the Wisconsin legislature in the performance of their regular job responsibilities, to assist the legislature, its committees, and its members in the redistricting of congressional and legislative districts. The limit may be exceeded by an amount approved by all of the members of the committee on assembly organization.

SB55-ASA1-AA55,3,11 (b) Notwithstanding section 20.001 (3) (d) of the statutes, of the amounts appropriated to the senate under section 20.765 (1) (b) of the statutes in the 2001-03 fiscal biennium, no more than $260,000 may be expended for legal and consulting services, other than for those performed by employees of the Wisconsin legislature in the performance of their regular job responsibilities, to assist the legislature, its committees, and its members in the redistricting of congressional and legislative districts. The limit may be exceeded by an amount approved by all of the members of the committee on senate organization.".
