How to Use This Guide to the 2001-2002 Governor's Executive Budget Bills
2001 Assembly Bill 144 and 2001 Senate Bill 55

The 2001-2002 Governor's Executive Budget Bills (the budget bills) are composed of hundreds of individual bill drafts (component drafts), each dealing with a particular topic or program. All bills in Wisconsin, including the budget bill, are divided into bill Sections, which are organized in numeric order of the statutory units treated by the Section. It is often helpful to be able to identify all of the bill Sections in the budget dealing with a particular topic or program. This guide is intended to enable you to identify and locate bill Sections in the budget that originated from the same component draft.

To use this guide, begin by identifying the Legislative Reference Bureau Number (the LRB number) of the component draft dealing with the topic or program that you are interested in. To do this, use the first index in this guide, which is organized alphabetically by subject and has the following column headings:


After determining the LRB number of the component draft, locate all of the bill Sections in the compiled budget draft that originated from that component draft. To do this, use the second index in the guide, which is organized numerically by component LRB number and has the following column headings:
