The prayer was offered State Chaplain Charlene Cobb, of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, from Darien.
Representative Gottlieb led the membership in reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

Representative Sherman introduced John Tribys from Port Wing, who sang the "Star Spangled Banner" from the rostrum.
