Motion for Extraordinary Session
July 27, 2004
The following motion was approved by the committee on Assembly Organization:
In accordance with Joint Rule 81 (2), it is moved that the Assembly Committee on Organization authorize that the Legislature to meet in Extraordinary Session at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, solely for the consideration of:
1. Taking action on resolutions relating to general purpose revenue payment schedules, limiting spending by the state and certain local governmental units, and requiring elector approval to exceed those limits.
2. Taking action on bills relating to any or all of the following :
A. Reducing the per pupil adjustment under the school district revenue limit;
B. Requiring to a two-thirds vote of the school board to use the school district revenue limit of $7,800 in 2004-2005;
C. Creating a three-year levy limit program for municipalities, counties, and technical college districts;
D. Creating a Joint Committee on State Mandates to review and report to the Legislature concerning bills introduced in the Legislature that would impose a mandate on local government units.
Ayes: 5 - Representatives Gard, Foti, Hundertmark, Freese and Vrakas.
Noes: 2 - Representatives Richards and Turner.
