1An Act to amend 36.11 (3) (b) and (c); and
to create 38.12 (12) of the statutes;
2relating to: transfer of credits between and within the University of Wisconsin
3System and the technical college system.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law authorizes the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin
(UW) System to establish policies for the appropriate transfer of credits 1) between
four-year UW System colleges; 2) between four-year and two-year UW System
colleges; and 3) between the UW System colleges and colleges outside of the UW
System.
This bill requires the Board of Regents to accept all credits transferred within
the UW System, including credits transferred between two-year UW System
colleges, and all credits transferred from the technical college system. The bill also
requires each technical college district board to accept credit transferred from
another technical college district or from a UW System college.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

2. 38.12 (12) of the statutes is created to read:

(12) Transfer of credit. Each district board shall accept all credits
11transferred from another district board or from an institution or college campus
12within the University of Wisconsin System.
