885.38 (8) (a) (intro.) Except as provided in par. (b), the necessary expenses of providing qualified interpreters to indigent persons with limited English proficiency under this section shall be paid as follows:
SECTION 9307. Initial applicability; circuit courts.
(1) COURT INTERPRETERS. The treatment of section 885.38 (3) (a) (intro.) and (8) (a) (intro.) of the statutes first applies to actions commenced on the effective date of this subsection.

Current law prescribes dates for biennial renewal of credentials issued by DRL. This bill changes renewal dates for credentials issued to the following: private detective agencies; aestheticians, barbers, cosmetologists, electrologists, and manicurists; social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors; accountants; appraisers; auctioneers; chiropractors; funeral directors and cemetery authorities and salespersons; home inspectors; optometrists; real estate brokers and salespersons and time-share salespersons; and veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The bill also changes renewal dates for credentials issued to schools, instructors, and entities related to the preceding credentials.
The bill requires DRL to consider changes in the renewal dates when recommending changes in credential renewal fees for the 2007-09 biennium.
