ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Marine Lance Corporal Shane K. O'Donnell.
Whereas, Marine Lance Corporal Shane K. O'Donnell, at the age of 24, died on November 8, 2004, in an explosion during combat operations in Babil province south of Baghdad, Iraq; and
Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was a United States Marine assigned to G Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division (Fleet Marine Forces), and completed his training at Camp Pendleton, California; and
Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was activated on June 1, 2004, and deployed to Iraq in September 2004 for a 6-month tour of duty; and
Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell graduated with honors from De Forest High School in 1999, where he played on the football team and participated in choir; and
Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell earned a degree from Madison Area Technical College in 2004; and
Whereas, Cpl. O'Donnell was employed as a professional plumber with Hooper Corporation in Madison, Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Marine Lance Corporal Shane K. O'Donnell, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Cpl. O'Donnell's father and stepmother, Larry and Diana O'Donnell, of De Forest; and to his mother, Peg O'Donnell, of De Forest.
