ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: Badger Mining Corporation of Berlin, Wisconsin.
Whereas, industrial silica and bank sand has been mined in the Berlin, Wisconsin, area since the early 1900s; and
Whereas, Badger Mining Corporation (BMC) was created in 1979 to supply a wide range of industrial silica sand and complimentary products and services to a wide range of industries; and
Whereas, BMC Wisconsin production facilities consist of two sand-processing facilities and three subsidiary operations; and
Whereas, BMC has become a quality leader in the industrial minerals industry with a team committed to excellence and a passion for satisfying its customers; and
Whereas, BMC is committed to environmental responsibility, safety, health, and integrity while providing a rewarding and enjoyable place to work; and
Whereas, BMC gives back to its community by awarding scholarships to graduating students who plan to pursue a career in engineering or the environment, giving tours of its operation, and allowing associates to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program and the Adopt-A-Highway program; and
Whereas, the foundation of every great workplace is trust between associates and management, and BMC has created this atmosphere in its company; and
Whereas, the Great Places to Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management named BMC the top-rated small business in America for the second consecutive year; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature congratulate BMC for its success and commitment to its associates, customers, and the surrounding community.
