Announcements, adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Anna-Marie, Brad and Jason Williams of Houston, TX. Anna-Marie is the wife of Colonel Jeff Williams, who has flown two missions for NASA, one of which was a six month expedition to the international space station. Brad and Jason are their sons. On Wednesday, March 28th, Colonel Williams returned to his very proud hometown of Winter, WI and was enthusiastically welcomed back by the community to celebrate his many accomplishments as an astronaut and commend his emphasis on the importance of roots and family. Anna-Marie, Brad and Jason should be commended for their instrumental role as a supportive family that has sacrificed time with Jeff to allow him to accomplish his dreams. The enrichment of those touched by Jeff's story occurs because of his family's endurance and sacrifice. None of us would enjoy our success in life without the dedication of a mother or a spouse who help us realize our promise and accomplish our dreams. As we all know, for those in public life, the public has ownership of the person and the family has visitation rights. Let's hope in the course of the next few months that this very special family will reclaim some time to spend together.
