The Senate was called to order by President Risser.
Senator Carpenter, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate recess until 11:30 A.M.

The roll was called and the following Senators answered to their names:
Senators Breske, Carpenter, Coggs, Cowles, Darling, Decker, Erpenbach, S. Fitzgerald, Hansen, Kanavas, Kedzie, Kreitlow, Lassa, Lehman, Miller, Olsen, Plale, Risser, Robson, Schultz, Sullivan, Vinehout and Wirch - 23.
Absent - Senators Ellis, Grothman, Harsdorf, Jauch, Kapanke, A. Lasee, Lazich, Leibham, and Roessler - 9.
Absent with leave - Taylor - 1.
The Senate stood for the prayer which was offered by Reverand Katie Baardseth from Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison.
The Senate remained standing and Senator Robson led the Senate in the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

Senator Breske, with unanimous consent, asked that Senator Taylor be granted a temporary leave of absence for today's session.

Senator Decker, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn until Thursday, February 28, 2008.
