Senator Kanavas, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Waukesha West Academic Decathlon Team on winning a seventh straight state championship on Tuesday. West's overall score of 52,111 out of a possible 60,000 points set a state record and beat its closest competitor by nearly 10,000 points. I would especially like to congratulate senior class member Alli Blonski, who had the highest score in the state competition and was an important contributor to a true “team" win. I wish them the best of luck at the national championships next month.

This is however, the second State Championship for Eleva-Strum student athletes - the Cardinals Football Team won their State Championship this year. The success of the Eleva-Strum Cardinals is a real tribute to their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship. These girls are playing in the State tournament after recently beating Sheboygan South narrowly, 47-45. Their victory over Sheboygan was secured by a last second jump by Krista Pelky. The former Executive Director of Administrative, Barbara Herzog, retired from the Oshkosh School District after 20 years of service. Webster Stanley has in turn received an excellent new principal, Brenna Garrison-Bruden. I commend these women for their service.

Kim, nominated by numerous staff members, was chosen for her many skills in leadership, curriculum, and attention to students. Congratulations to her. She was chosen as the best in the state. My applause and congratulations go to her.
Senator Miller, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Mr. David Wood who devoted his adult life to progressive public policy, including the importance of recycling electronic waste. He died while still a young man. In his memory, I dedicate Senate Bill 397, the electronic recycling bill adopted by this body yesterday on a 30-3 vote.
