Under current law, a sum certain of Indian gaming receipts is appropriated annually to the State Historical Society (SHS) to support the operations of a storage facility for the collection of the SHS and the unencumbered balance of that appropriation on June 30 of each fiscal year reverts to the Indian gaming receipts appropriation of DOA. This bill converts the storage facility appropriation of the SHS to a biennial appropriation and provides that the unencumbered balance of that appropriation on June 30 of each odd-numbered fiscal year reverts to the Indian gaming receipts appropriation of DOA.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. 20.245 (1) (k) of the statutes is amended to read:

20.245 (1) (k) Storage facility. The Biennially, the amounts in the schedule to support the operation of a storage facility for the collections of the historical society. All moneys transferred from the appropriation account under s. 20.505 (8) (hm) 4d. shall be credited to this appropriation account. Notwithstanding s. 20.001 (3) (a) (b), the unencumbered balance on June 30 of each odd-numbered year shall revert to the appropriation account under s. 20.505 (8) (hm).
