April 2, 2010 - Introduced by Representatives Soletski, Sinicki, Berceau and

AB925,1,3
1An Act to amend 941.20 (1) (d) of the statutes;
relating to: discharging a
2firearm within 100 yards of a building devoted to human occupancy while in
3waters adjacent to land owned by another person and providing a penalty.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, no person may, while on the land of another, discharge a
firearm within 100 yards of any building devoted to human occupancy situated on
the land without the express permission of the owner or occupant of the building.
Anyone who does so is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor and may be fined not more
than $10,000 or imprisoned for not more than nine months or both.
Under this bill, no person may, while on the land of another or in waters
adjacent to the land of another, discharge a firearm within 100 yards of any building
devoted to human occupancy situated on the land without the express permission of
the owner or occupant of the building.
Because this bill creates a new crime or revises a penalty for an existing crime,
the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties may be requested to prepare a
report concerning the proposed penalty and the costs or savings that are likely to
result if the bill is enacted.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
