Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Hansen, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Corporal Justin Ross. Justin died in Afghanistan on March 26th at the age of 22. He is truly an American hero, who made the ultimate sacrifice. Some of us grow old and others are young forever.
Senator Hansen, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his wife of 39 years, Jane. Her birthday is tomorrow.

Wilbur served in World War II and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, and will be flying to Washington D.C. on May 2nd with the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to visit the World War II Memorial. Wilbur and his fellow veterans have earned our undying gratitude, and the people of Wisconsin and all Americans will never forget their sacrifices.
S211 Senator Hopper, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of all the brave men and women of the Fond du Lac Police Department and especially Officers Craig Birkholz and Ryan Williams. Officer Craig Birkholz, 28, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, gave the ultimate sacrifice - his life - on March 20th while protecting the community he serves. Officer Ryan Williams, 33, was also seriously wounded and just recently released from the hospital. Thank you to all the individuals who have shown their support and condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of these two brave men during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Their keen attention to detail and outstanding professional dedication allowed them to identify attempted fraudulent activity at their bank. After correctly assessing the risk involved, Eileen and Cheri were able to save thousands of dollars for their customer, Margie Sweet. The level of diligence displayed in these actions has proven Eileen and Cheri to be great assets to the Racine community. Their display of excellence upholds an extraordinary level of customer service, and Racine is very proud of these sterling individuals. The Senator commends Eileen Bernhardt and Cheri Smith on their integrity, concern for their customers, and exemplary professionalism.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the 30th Anniversary of his wife Mary Jo Wanggaard's 29th birthday. They have been happily married for thirty eight years. They have enjoyed a great life together since first meeting back in high school. Senator Wanggaard knew the moment he saw Mary Jo that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Their shared experiences have enriched his life. The greatest gifts Mary has given him are their two children, Kathleen and Joshua. The Senator's family has taught him that life is nothing without love and family. Mary Jo is everything to him. He loves her and looks forward to the next thirty eight years they will spend together. Happy Birthday.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked hat when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Racine St. Catherine's High School Boys' Basketball Team. The St. Catherine's team made their sixth state tournament appearance last week with an impressive 23-3 season record. In the state semi-final game the Angels defeated Little Chute 58-51. The victory advanced St. Catherine's to their third straight division 3 championship game. Beyond the on court performance of the team, the Senator would also like to recognize the conduct of the players in both victory, and defeat. These young men made St. Catherine's High School and the city of Racine proud.

Jenny is a wonderful, positive person, and a great Legislative Aide. She keeps the Senator grounded and on time. She is a fantastic resource for the people of Racine County, and the Senator couldn't be happier to have her as a member of his staff.
