SENATE AMENDMENT 4, TO SENATE BILL 179

SB179-SA4,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB179-SA4,1,2 1. Page 7, line 8: after "(c)," insert "(cm),".

SB179-SA4,1,3 2. Page 7, line 17: after that line insert:

SB179-SA4,1,5 "(cm) Within 2 hours of removing a vehicle from private property under par. (b) or (c), the towing service that removed the vehicle shall do all of the following:

SB179-SA4,1,9 1. Inform the primary local law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction over the area from which the vehicle was removed that the vehicle has been removed and provide the law enforcement agency with the registration number located on the vehicle's registration plate.

SB179-SA4,1,11 2. Request that the law enforcement agency under subd. 1. attempt to determine a phone number to contact the owner of the removed vehicle.

SB179-SA4,2,2 3. If a local law enforcement agency provides the towing service with a phone number under subd. 2., contact the owner of the vehicle to inform the owner that the owner's vehicle has been removed and to provide the owner with information about how the vehicle may be retrieved.".
