Primary and secondary education
Current law directs DPI, the UW System, the Technical College System, and the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities to enter into an agreement requiring them to establish and maintain a longitudinal data system of information about students from preschool programs to postsecondary education programs.
This bill appropriates moneys to DPI to maintain the data system and develop the tools necessary to access the data for research and analysis purposes.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section
1. 20.255 (1) (ek) of the statutes is created to read:
20.255 (1) (ek) Longitudinal data system. The amounts in the schedule to develop and maintain the longitudinal data system of student information under s. 115.297 and the tools necessary to access the data for research and analysis purposes.
****Note: This Section involves a change in an appropriation that must be reflected in the revised schedule in s. 20.005, stats.
