Dear Speaker Vos:
Under Assembly Rule 9 (c), the minority leader is charged with nominating minority members for appointment by the Speaker to legislative standing committees. Following the committee appointments of Representative Neylon, you have asked for additional minority members on several committees. This letter is to nominate Representative Katrina Shankland for appointment to the Assembly Committee on State Affairs.
The Committee on State Affairs has a meeting scheduled for April 30, 2013. Please let me know if there is a reason this appointment cannot be made prior to that meeting.
