AB460,1,2 1An Act to create 20.435 (5) (cf) and 46.536 of the statutes; relating to: grants
2to mental health mobile crisis units and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services (DHS) to award grants to
counties to establish mental health mobile crisis teams to serve individuals having
mental health crises in rural areas. The total amount of the moneys to be awarded
as grants in each fiscal biennium is $250,000 under the bill, and DHS pays those
grants from general purpose revenue. For each grant awarded, DHS shall award the
county an amount that is one-half the amount the county provides to establish
mobile crisis teams.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB460,2 1Section 2. 20.435 (5) (cf) of the statutes is created to read:
AB460,2,42 20.435 (5) (cf) Mobile crisis team grants. Biennially, the amounts in the
3schedule for awarding grants to counties to establish mental health mobile crisis
4teams under s. 46.536.
AB460,3 5Section 3. 46.536 of the statutes is created to read:
AB460,2,11 646.536 Mobile crisis team grants. From the appropriation under s. 20.435
7(5) (cf), the department shall award grants in the total amount of $250,000 in each
8fiscal biennium to counties to establish mental health mobile crisis teams to serve
9individuals having mental health crises in rural areas. The department shall award
10a grant under this section in an amount equal to one-half the amount of money the
11county provides to establish mobile crisis teams.
