Whereas, Michael Harried died on November 28, 2012, at the age of 52; and

Whereas, Michael Harried attended McFarland Schools and graduated from
4McFarland High School and then went on to graduate from the Wisconsin School of
5Electronics; and

Whereas, Michael Harried served as a senior electronics technician with the
7State Department of Transportation; and

Whereas, Michael Harried was an avid curler and served on the Board of
9Directors of the Madison Curling Club, based in McFarland; and

Whereas, Michael Harried was dedicated and loyal to the McFarland
11community his entire life and was the person others went to when something needed
12to be done in McFarland; and

Whereas, Michael Harried was known for being a true gentleman in every
14sense of the word, above reproach, fair, ethical, and unselfish. He respected
15others—whether he agreed with them or not; and

1Whereas, Michael Harried served on the McFarland Village Board and as
2McFarland Village President where he epitomized the qualities we would like to see
3in elected officials whether on the local, state, or national level; now, therefore, be it

4Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of
5
the Wisconsin legislature commend the life and public service of Michael Harried,
6mourn his passing, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be
7it further

8Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
9resolution to Michael Harried's parents, Loraine and Hjalmer "Jim" Harried of
10McFarland, and the Village of McFarland, Wisconsin.
