AJR27,1,32 Whereas, Wisconsin is a land rich in natural beauty and glorious landscapes,
3readily available to be shared with the children and families of the state; and
AJR27,1,54 Whereas, Wisconsin has led the nation in a long tradition of environmental
5protection and conservation; and
AJR27,1,86 Whereas, Wisconsin has a long standing commitment to its natural heritage,
7connecting its people to the land, and passing its heritage and traditions to future
8generations; and
AJR27,1,129 Whereas, due to urbanization and technological advancements of our society,
10children are becoming less connected to the natural world, which threatens their
11health, quality of life, readiness for future job opportunities, and the future of our
12natural resources; and
AJR27,2,213 Whereas, children who frequently spend time outdoors have significantly less
14stress, develop enhanced sensory perception, experience fewer attention difficulties
15and decreased rates of physical and emotional illness and obesity, and are more likely

1to become lifelong participants in Wisconsin's rich outdoor traditions; now, therefore,

AJR27,2,5 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature recognize that every Wisconsin child should continue to have
5the opportunity to:
AJR27,2,76 discover Wisconsin's diverse wilderness: prairies, forests, wetlands, and
7beaches;
AJR27,2,88 breathe clean air and drink clean water;
AJR27,2,99 splash, play, swim, and boat in safe, clean lakes and rivers;
AJR27,2,1010 visit a farm, historical site, or orchard;
AJR27,2,1111 share a hunting or fishing experience with a family member, friend, or mentor;
AJR27,2,1212 follow a trail — ride it or walk it;
AJR27,2,1313 play, snowshoe, ski, snowboard, or sled in the snow;
AJR27,2,1414 camp out under the stars;
AJR27,2,1515 picnic and eat meals made from local products and ingredients;
AJR27,2,1616 play in the dirt, plant a tree, and grow a garden; and
AJR27,2,1817 explore and connect with Wisconsin's natural spaces and wild places; and, be

AJR27,2,20 19Resolved, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature recognize the
20benefits of participation in outdoor activities; and, be it further
AJR27,2,23 21Resolved, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature encourage parents
22and guardians to make time to involve children in the wealth of outdoor activities
23that Wisconsin provides.
