1An Act relating to: the apprenticeship completion award program and making
2an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill increases the amount appropriated to the Department of Workforce
Development for the apprenticeship completion award program by $150,000 in fiscal
year 2016-17. Currently, $225,000 is appropriated in that fiscal year for that
program, which reimburses apprentices and their sponsors for up to 25 percent of the
tuition costs incurred for instruction related to the apprenticeship or $1,000,
whichever is less.

520.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of workforce
6development under section 20.445 (1) (d) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of
12015, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2016-17 is increased by $150,000 for the
2purpose for which the appropriation is made.
