2017 WISCONSIN ACT 346
An Act to amend 301.48 (3) (b) and 301.49 (3) (b) of the statutes; relating to: length of contracts for GPS devices for tracking sex offenders and persons who violated injunctions.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
346,1 Section 1. 301.48 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
301.48 (3) (b) The department shall contract with a vendor using a competitive process under s. 16.75 to provide staff in this state to install, remove, and maintain equipment related to global positioning system tracking and passive positioning system tracking for purposes of this section. The term of the contract may not exceed 3 7 years.
346,2 Section 2. 301.49 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:

346,3 Section 3. Initial applicability.
(1) This act first applies to contracts entered into, modified, or renewed on the effective date of this subsection.
