In the 2017-18 fiscal year, the department of financial institutions may 6
submit a request to the joint committee on finance for a specified amount of 7
additional funding to cover one-time expenses related to the department's collection, 8
in business entity filings, of business activity codes under sections 178.0901 (3) (e), 9
178.1003 (6), 179.11 (1) (e), 179.82 (9), 180.0202 (1) (j), 180.1503 (1) (k), 181.0202 (1) 10
(h), 181.1503 (1) (i), 183.0202 (7), 183.1004 (8), 185.05 (1) (n), and 193.215 (2) (a) 5. 11
of the statutes and related to making these codes available to the department of 12
revenue as provided in section 182.01 (7) of the statutes.
If the cochairpersons of the joint committee on finance do not notify the 2
department of financial institutions within 14 working days after the date of the 3
submittal of the request under paragraph (a) that the committee has scheduled a 4
meeting to review the request, the request is approved. If, within 14 working days 5
after the date of the submittal of the request, the cochairpersons of the joint 6
committee on finance notify the department of financial institutions that the 7
committee has scheduled a meeting to review the request, the request is approved 8
only upon express approval of the committee, as submitted or as modified by the 9
11(1) Funding for the department of financial institutions.
In the schedule 12
under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of 13
financial institutions under section 20.144 (1) (g) of the statutes, the dollar amount 14
for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased by the amount approved by the joint committee 15
on finance under Section
29g (1) (b) of this act for the purpose specified in Section
29g (1) (a) of this act.”.
