SB69-AA4,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB69-AA4,1,3 21. Page 1, line 4: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with
3page 2, line 7, and substitute:
SB69-AA4,1,4 4 Section 1m. 30.69 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB69-AA4,1,105 30.69 (1) (a) Except as provided in par. pars. (ag) and (b), no person may operate
6a motorboat towing a person on water skis, aquaplane, or similar device unless there
7is in the boat motorboat a competent person in addition to the operator in a position
8to observe the progress of the person being towed. An observer shall be considered
9competent if that person can in fact observe the person being towed and relay any
10signals to the operator.
SB69-AA4,1,12 11(ag) This The observer requirement under par. (a) does not apply to motorboats
12any of the following:
11. An operator of a motorboat classified as a Class A motorboats motorboat by
2the department that is actually operated by the persons person being towed and so
3constructed as to be incapable of carrying the operator in or on the motorboat.".

SB69-AA4,2,5 5 Section 2m. 30.69 (1) (ag) 2. and 3. of the statutes are created to read:
SB69-AA4,2,66 30.69 (1) (ag) 2. A motorboat operator who is a member of a water ski club.
SB69-AA4,2,87 3. A motorboat operator who tows a person on water skis only in an area
8designated as a water ski course.".
