ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Esther Kolb Walling.
Whereas, Esther Kolb Walling was born on April 7, 1940, in the Town of Rushford, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, and died on February 1, 2017; and
Whereas, Esther K. Walling graduated from Oshkosh High School and attended the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh; and
Whereas, Esther K. Walling was active in local government, serving as Town of Menasha Clerk from 1975 to 1977 and Town of Menasha Chair from 1977 to 1981, and later working to incorporate the Town of Menasha as the Village of Fox Crossing; and
Whereas, Esther K. Walling was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1982 and served from 1983 to 1991; and
Whereas, in the course of her assembly service, Esther K. Walling served as ranking minority member of the Assembly Committee on Aging and the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems; and
Whereas, upon her retirement from the assembly, Esther K. Walling continued to serve her community through volunteer work; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin State Legislature join in honoring the life and public service of Esther Kolb Walling and extend their condolences to her family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Mrs. Walling's husband, Garth, and to their children, Nicole Smith and Nancy Walling.
