Representative Brandtjen introduced Hometown Hero Award recipients, Katie Murphy and her teacher Beth Tomlin. Shortly after Ms. Tomlin’s lesson on how to recognize signs and symptoms of a stroke, Katie recognized her mother was having a stroke and was able to call 911 in time to save her mother. Katie and Ms. Tomlin addressed the members from the rostrum.
