Senator Taylor, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Mother Scott, a great humanitarian who fed and serviced the community through ministry her entire life.
Senator Taylor, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Mr. Bentley, a great father and business man. He watched Senator Taylor and her brother grow. Mr. Bentley was a role model for the block, neighborhood and community.

Chief Petersen’s devotion to public safety began at an early age, when visits with a neighbor who served on the State Patrol sparked an interest in law enforcement. 36 years, 212 hours, 78,000 hours and 256,000 miles patrolled later Chief Petersen retired this month and allowed the department to retain all of its officers despite a round of budget cuts.

He has gone on to serve as Mayor of La Crosse and has served for 3 United State Senators, Senators Kohls, Feingold and Baldwin. John has announced his retirement and is receiving the communities Martin Luther King Jr. Award for citizenship for the good work he has done his whole life about peace and justice, equality, and what he has always done. He always remembered his roots and always fought for the little guy and was the voice for the people who felt they didn’t have a voice.
