3reduction grants and making an appropriation.

This bill eliminates the December 31, 2021, sunset for the diesel truck idling
reduction grant program, under which the Department of Administration makes
grants to cover a portion of a grant recipient's cost to purchase and field test devices
that reduce the long-duration idling of diesel trucks.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
16.956 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
16.956 (2) Authority.
Beginning on July 1, 2006, and ending on June 30, 2020,
department may award a grant to an eligible applicant for the purchase and 7
field testing of one or more idling reduction units as provided in subs. (3) and (4).
16.956 (4) (cm) of the statutes is amended to read:
(cm) Subject to par. (d), the department may make grants under this 3
section from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2020,
of 50 percent of the eligible costs for an 4
idling reduction unit installed on a truck tractor, unless the department has 5
previously awarded a grant under this section for an idling reduction unit installed 6
on the truck tractor.
16.956 (6) of the statutes is repealed.
20.505 (1) (s) of the statutes is amended to read:
(s) Diesel truck idling reduction grant administration.

petroleum inspection fund, the amounts in the schedule for administering the Diesel 11
Truck Idling Reduction Grant Program under s. 16.956. No funds may be
12encumbered under this paragraph after December 31, 2021.
20.505 (1) (sa) of the statutes is amended to read:
(sa) Diesel truck idling reduction grants.
