AJR41,1,42 Whereas, the family, in which mothers perform a crucial role, is a major social
3institution in Wisconsin and throughout the world that provides tremendous value
4to both its members and society as a whole; and
AJR41,1,75 Whereas, the family social unit may be forged by blood, marriage, foster care,
6or adoption, and may be both nuclear, encompassing parents and children, and
7extended, encompassing other relatives; and
AJR41,1,98 Whereas, mothers have a unique bond with their children, often acting as the
9eye in the storm; and
AJR41,1,1210 Whereas, women across Wisconsin place their trust and their children in the
11arms of other women, sharing motherhood through foster care, respite care, and
12adoption; and
AJR41,1,1413 Whereas, mothers across Wisconsin receive children into their arms at a
14moment's notice; and
1Whereas, mothers have an indispensable role in building and transforming
2society and culture and move our state, country, and world forward, remaining
3steadfast in their pursuit of a better and brighter future for their children; and

5undervalued, unnoticed, and unappreciated; and
AJR41,2,76 Whereas, mothers are innovators, tireless workers, engines of economic
7growth, and drivers of progress; and
AJR41,2,108 Whereas, mothers are breadwinners, community leaders, advocates, allies, and
9pillars of family that have, for generations, blazed new paths, opened up new
10possibilities, and widened circles of opportunity for their daughters and sons; and
AJR41,2,1211 Whereas, Wisconsin has significant racial disparities in maternal mortality
12rates, which must be addressed; and
AJR41,2,1513 Whereas, Wisconsin has a proven record of meeting challenges and creating
14positive change, and we are committed to making mothers' lives better and ensuring
15their health and prosperity; and
AJR41,2,1716 Whereas, Mother's Day is celebrated in May across Wisconsin and nationwide;
AJR41,2,1918 Whereas, mothers, and the institution of motherhood, are worthy of honor and
19affirmation; now, therefore, be it
AJR41,2,23 20Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
21Wisconsin Legislature call upon the people of Wisconsin to observe May as Wisconsin
22Motherhood Month with honor, affirmation, and respect to mothers in our state; and,
23be it further
1Resolved, That the assembly calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
2their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to mothers everywhere; and, be
3it further

5resolution to the governor of Wisconsin.
